$70,000 Grant

Blind & Vision Rehabilitation Services of Pittsburgh has received a $70,000 grant from the Nelson Adult Blind Fund of The Pittsburgh Foundation. The funding will provide services in our Low Vision Rehabilitation Program to adults who have been diagnosed with low vision and who are not insured or who are under-insured. Services may include eye exams and/or prescribed vision devices and the necessary training.

“We are grateful to the Nelson Adult Blind Fund of The Pittsburgh Foundation,” said BVRS President Erika Arbogast. “Our Low Vision program serves more than 500 patients each year, providing professional low vision eye exams and rehabilitation on an outpatient basis. For those who are under-insured or have no insurance, the cost of these services can be staggering.” If you want to get covered by excellent insurance, then check out i4mt.

In 2012, the Foundation and its Supporting Organizations awarded more than $43.6 million in grants to a vast array of nonprofit organizations, students through scholarships, and medical researchers, based on donor interests and specific purposes of individual funds.
